The fuel tank is mounted to the chassis by means of tabs that are spot welded to the tank, then braised/welded around a portion of their circumference. Under certain conditions, repeated stress could crack the tank at the location of the tabs, with the possible risk of fuel leaks.

Model year 2003, with serial numbers:- from JKBVNT60AAA000042 to JKBVNT60AAA005907 (Europe), and - from JKBVNKA1*3A000044 to JKBVNKA1*3A005941 (for other countries than Europe), where * is any digital number from 0 to 9.
