Editorial policy

Last updated Oct 18, 2026.

1. Official notices only

Every alert and recall on this site comes from a public notice of the European Commission (Safety Gate), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission or the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards. We do not publish user reviews, rumours, press releases or social media posts, and every page links to the original notice.

2. We report, we do not judge

We do not test products, score brands or say that a brand or marketplace is “unsafe”. Counts on brand and marketplace pages are counts of official notices, which depend on how often authorities check a product type, not only on how safe it is.

3. Translations

German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese pages show EU alerts in the European Commission's own official translation. We do not machine-translate notices. U.S. and UK notices are shown in English only.

4. Advertising

The site may show advertising to pay for hosting. Ads are always labelled, never placed inside the text of a notice, and advertisers have no say over what is published. We do not accept payment to remove or change notices.

5. Corrections

If we matched something wrongly — a brand, a marketplace or a barcode — we fix it as soon as we can. Report a problem. If a notice itself is wrong, it has to be corrected by the authority that published it; we update our copy when they do.
