Hazard

Internal quality testing of TR-6580E filters, labelled as suitable for storage between -30⁰C /+50⁰C, demonstrated that this product does not meet the performance requirements of the relevant standard, when subject to the temperature range described in the storage instructions (intended conditions of use): Therefore, it cannot be assured that these products meet the stated performance standards, and may have reduced breakthrough times for the gases and vapours that the filter is certified to protect against. This is particularly significant when the product is being used to protect against mercury vapour (Hg), as mercury vapour does not have clear warning properties should breakthrough occur.

Remedy

Recall of the product from end users. This recall does not affect products manufactured after November 2022, which state suitable storage conditions to be between -30 and +40 degrees) The product has been withdrawn from the market. End Users should contact 3M Sales Representatives if they have any queries.
