Hazard

The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the transformer was of a poor build quality and the plug face did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363, which can allow access to live parts when unplugging, or plugging in, the plug from the socket. The product also had insufficient creepage and clearance distances, presenting risks of electric shock and fire. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

Remedy

The import has been rejected at the border. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
