Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of choking as when tested in accordance with the drop test, the tops of both side panels of the walker were damaged and pieces broke off the right-hand side panel. All the broken pieces fitted wholly inside the small parts cylinder. Additionally, the two ‘hammers’, comprising a wooden ‘dowel’ with a spherical ‘bead’ attached to one end, were tested in accordance with torque test, during which the ‘bead’ on one of the ‘hammers’ rotated 180°. When this ‘hammer’ was tested in accordance with the tension test, the ‘bead’ detached under a force of 11.5 ± 0.1 Newtons which is less than the minimum 90N specified. The detached ‘bead’ fitted wholly inside the small parts cylinder, presenting a choking hazard to a child under the age of 36 months. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Remedy

The import has been rejected and destroyed at the border. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
