Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of fire as it is insufficiently earthed. Under fault conditions, the fuse would not operate and provide the necessary protections, which could cause the plug to catch fire and explode. The internal construction can also allow insulation to break down, which under fault conditions can cause high voltage at the output, presenting risks of fire and electric shock. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

Remedy

The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
