Hazard

The Vision Harness has a design flaw which can lead to premature degradation and weakness of the waist belt. If the user falls or is flipped over while wearing the harness, the waist belt could fail, leading to injuries or death. The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment or the Personal Protective Equipment (Enforcement) Regulations 2018.

Remedy

The product has been recalled from end users. Owners of Black Diamond Vision harnesses should immediately stop using the product and visit the Black Diamond website for further information: https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_GB/content/2025-vision-harness-recall/

Product description

A black and blue recreational climbing and mountaineering harness, designed for use on technical alpine routes. The recall includes all Black Diamond Vision harnesses (in all sizes) manufactured and sold between 1st January 2018 – 27th February 2025. The product identifiers can be found on the waist belt tag.
