Kaak Dough Driem Line — entrapment risk

UK OPSSHigh riskEntrapmentApr 7, 2026

Hazard

The product presents a risk of entrapment as it was identified that a fixed guard could be easily by-passed and opened without the use of tools. It was possible to insert a finger into a slot in the guard and turn the securing latch from behind, allowing access to the moving belt, rollers and in-running nip, and presenting a risk of entanglement. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

Remedy

Modification programme. The manufacturer, Kaak Dough Technology B.V, has developed an anti-tampering cover that can only be removed with specific tooling. They have initiated a program of retrofitting this device to the 5 machines already supplied in GB. This anti-tampering cover will be fitted to any new machines before they are placed on the market.
