Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of injuries as a screw within the folding mechanism may not have been tightened to the required specification during production and can gradually loosen during normal use. This can lead to a loss of structural support and stability while riding, increasing the risk of the scooter collapsing and the rider losing balance, which may result in injuries. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Remedy
The product has been recalled from end users. Affected consumers should stop using the product and complete the required maintenance to tighten the screw at home. Acer have prepared a step-by-step video demonstrating which screw to inspect and how to tighten it correctly which can be found here: AES015 - Tightening the Front Tube Screw . For further details, please access the Acer recall notice here: https://www.acer.com/gb-en/support/alerts-recalls/recall-aes015 or contact the Acer support centre on 0371 760 1000.
