Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of fire because it is supplied with a non-compliant two-pin plug that does not incorporate a fuse and therefore does not meet the requirements of BS 1362. In the event of a fault or overcurrent, there is no adequate protection, which may lead to overheating and a risk of fire. Additionally, improvements are required to the documentation, markings, instruction manual, and Declaration of Conformity. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994. OPSS has published statutory guidelines on lithium-ion battery safety for e-bikes, which are available at the following link: Statutory guidelines on lithium-ion battery safety for e-bikes - GOV.UK
