MEDIAN bicycle for young children — injuries risk

EU Safety GateSerious riskInjuriesMar 6, 2009

Hazard

The product poses a risk of injuries because: - the design of the brake lever does not ensure a safe grip, - the cable ends protected by the caps do not withstand a removal force of 20 N; their removal can result in a painful injury to the child, - the handlebar grips are not sufficiently extended and do not have protected ends. This could cause the hands to slip from the handlebars and cause the child to fall while riding, - the bicycle is not equipped with a chain-guard that fully shields the chain. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14765.
