Hazard

The sleep bag presents a serious risk of suffocation, overheating and death as it has a head covering. This breaches the clause in the relevant standard, BS EN 16781, as it can allow the user to overheat. The presence of the head covering can lead to a rise in a child’s core temperature and has been associated with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The presence of a hood can also obstruct the user’s airways, causing them to suffocate. Further information on safe sleeping for babies can be found on the NHS website at the following link: https://www.nhs.uk/start-for-life/baby/baby-basics/newborn-and-baby-sleeping-advice-for-parents/safe-sleep-advice-for-babies/ . The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
